The broadband industry gave birth to yet another trade group last night – the Ethernet Alliance, a combine of industry players created with the avowed goal of supporting Ethernet standards. Founding members include 3Com, Agere Systems, Broadcom, Force10 Networks, Foundry Networks, Intel, Pioneer Corporation, Quake Technologies, Samsung, Sun Microsystems, Tyco Electronics, and Xilinx.
